To keep your system safe and working correctly, please follow these basic safety and maintenance guidelines. These apply to most solar, battery, inverter and electrical components supplied by Rohen Services.

General Safety:
• Ensure all products are installed by a qualified technician
• Do not open, modify or tamper with equipment
• Protect components from water ingress, dust and extreme heat
• Always switch off the power before handling electrical connections
• Use the product only within the manufacturer’s recommended limits

Battery Safety (where applicable):
• Keep batteries in a well-ventilated, dry environment
• Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures
• Do not short-circuit the terminals
• Ensure communication cables are secured and undamaged

Maintenance:
• Check cables, breakers and connectors periodically for wear
• Keep components clean and free of debris
• Test backup systems during low-risk periods (for example during the day)
• Report unusual noises, smells or error messages immediately

Rohen Services provides delivery and installation support across the North West Province for all major solar and power products.

Delivery:
• Standard delivery time is 5–7 working days after payment clearance
• All items are inspected before dispatch
• Packaging is reinforced to protect components during transport
• Basic product documentation is included where applicable

Installation:
Installation is available for qualifying products such as batteries, inverters, panels, hybrid systems, security equipment and monitoring hardware. Work is carried out by trained technicians to ensure safety, warranty compliance and correct configuration.

A standard installation includes:
• Mounting or placement of the product
• Electrical and communication connections
• System testing and calibration
• A final handover with usage guidance

Service areas include Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom, Stilfontein, Hartbeesfontein, Orkney and surrounding regions.

1. What does a SmartSolar MPPT controller do?
It manages how solar panels charge your batteries and increases charging efficiency, especially during low light or cloudy weather.

2. Can the MPPT controller power appliances directly?
No. It only regulates solar charging. Appliances must still run through an inverter or DC system.

3. Is the SmartSolar MPPT compatible with lithium batteries?
Yes. All SmartSolar models support lithium, AGM, Gel and lead-acid batteries when correctly configured.

4. What size MPPT controller do I need?
The size depends on your solar panel voltage and total wattage. Rohen Services can help you choose the correct model for your system.

5. Does it work with 12V, 24V and 48V systems?
Yes. All three variations in this range support 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V battery banks.

6. Can I monitor the controller on my phone?
Yes. SmartSolar models include Bluetooth, allowing you to use the VictronConnect app for real-time monitoring and settings.

7. Is it safe to use in hot North West weather?
Yes. Victron MPPT units have strong thermal protection and passive cooling, but they should still be installed in a shaded, ventilated area.

8. Can I connect too many solar panels to the MPPT?
No. The controller must be matched to the correct PV voltage and current limits. Oversizing can damage the unit, so panel sizing must be checked before installation.
