Description
β‘ What the Quattro Does
Think of the Quattro as the brains and heart of your power system.
It manages power from different sources β like the grid, a generator, and batteries β and makes sure your home or system always has electricity, smoothly and efficiently.
π 1. It Takes Power from Two Sources
The Quattro has two AC inputs β for example:
- One from the main grid (public electricity), and
- One from a generator (backup power).
It automatically chooses whichever source is available.
If the grid goes off, it switches to the generator or battery instantly (so fast your lights or computers wonβt even flicker).
π 2. It Charges the Batteries
When grid or generator power is available, the Quattro acts like a smart charger, topping up your batteries.
It can also limit how much power it draws β so it wonβt overload your generator or trip the supply.
βοΈ 3. It Becomes an Inverter When the Power Goes Out
If the grid and generator are both off, the Quattro automatically becomes an inverter, converting your battery power into normal AC power for your home.
You keep running on battery until the main power comes back.
π 4. It Works with Solar Power Too
The Quattro can connect with solar panels and solar charge controllers.
That means during the day, your solar panels can power your home and charge the batteries β even if the grid is down.
β‘ 5. It Can Boost Weak Power Sources
If your generator or shore power (like at a campsite or boat dock) isnβt strong enough to handle a big load β for example, when you turn on an air conditioner β the Quattro can βhelp outβ using battery power.
This feature is called PowerAssist.
When the heavy load ends, it recharges the batteries again.
π 6. You Can Monitor and Control Everything
You can connect the Quattro to a device like Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, and then view all your system info:
- How much power youβre using
- Battery levels
- Solar input
- Generator or grid status
You can even monitor and change settings remotely using Victronβs VRM Portal (via phone, tablet, or computer).
