SunSynk Mobile Lynks 8kW Hybrid LV Inverter

R18135,00

It’s the heart of your solar system — managing where your power comes from and where it goes, so you save money and keep the lights on when Eskom is off

💡 Key points

  • 8 kW = strong enough for most medium to large homes.

  • “Hybrid” = works with both solar and batteries. Kan jy hier tik?

What it does

  • Converts solar energy into usable electricity for your home.

  • Charges batteries when there’s extra solar power.

  • Automatically powers your home from solar, battery, or the grid — whichever is best at the time.

  • Keeps lights and essentials running during load-shedding.

  • “LV” = uses 48 V batteries (common and safe).

  • Very efficient, reliable, and designed for South African conditions.

  • Can expand later — add more panels or batteries as your needs grow.

Description

What is it?

  • It’s a hybrid inverter made by SunSynk (the “Lynks 8 kW” model). A hybrid inverter means it can handle both solar-panel input and battery storage (and the grid) in one unit.

  • “8 kW” means it is rated to deliver about 8 000 watts of output power (which is enough for a reasonably sized home under many circumstances).

  • “LV” in this case means ‘low voltage’ battery input (for example a 48 V battery bank) rather than high-voltage systems.

How does it work in simple terms

  1. Solar panels on your roof produce DC (direct current) power. The inverter takes that and turns it into AC (alternating current) which your home uses.

  2. At the same time, it works with batteries, so when your panels are producing more than you use, the extra can charge the battery bank. And when your panels aren’t producing (e.g., load-shedding or night), the battery kicks in.

  3. It can also work with the grid, so if your solar + battery can’t cover everything, it can draw from the grid; or if you’re generating more than needed, you might export (depending on your setup).

  4. It manages all those sources (solar, battery, grid) and switches between them smoothly. In technical speak: it has “dual MPPT” for solar maximum harvesting, battery charge/discharge control, grid connection and backup capability

Why it’s useful (especially in South Africa)

  • Because of frequent load-shedding, having a hybrid inverter + battery gives you more autonomy: you’re not purely reliant on the grid.

  • It lets you use more of your solar by storing excess midday production for use later.

  • It handles a variety of battery types (lithium-ion or lead-acid) which gives flexibility.

  • It can be scaled: you might start with solar + inverter then add battery later (or vice-versa) depending on budget and need

Key specs

  • Battery input: works with 48 V nominal battery voltage (range ~40-60 V) when connecting to the battery bank.

  • Supports solar input power up to about 10 000 W (10 kW) and a DC input voltage range up to ~500 V.

  • AC output: can deliver continuously ~8 000 W, handles common South African single-phase 220-240 V systems.

  • High efficiency: it does most of its job with minimal wasted energy, meaning better value from your solar/battery investment.

  • Built for durability (IP ratings etc) so it can handle typical home installations.

Things to check / ask when you install

  • Make sure your battery bank voltage matches what the inverter requires (in this case ~48 V).

  • Ensure your solar panels’ combined voltage fits within the MPPT input range of the inverter (so check panel string design).

  • Check whether you want full backup for the whole house or just “essential loads” (fridge, lights etc) — 8 kW is good for many homes but heavy load (like big air-cons, many ovens at once) may exceed it.

  • Ask about the warranty, maintenance and whether your installer is certified by SunSynk.

  • Consider the future: if you might expand your system (more batteries, more solar) ask if this inverter will allow that or whether you’ll need to change.

  • Ensure proper installation for safety (both DC for panels and battery side, and AC to your home grid) plus compliance with local regulations in South Africa. Kan jy hier tik?
